Who you are

Superpedestrian is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer with experience producing complex electromechanical assemblies. You should have a proven track record of moving products through production and bringing them to the market.


What you’ll do:

  • Support new product development by ensuring that designs have been reviewed by our manufacturing partners for manufacturability (DFM), test (DFT) and that processes/procedures are adhered to in relation to quality, method and cost.
  • Work with EMS supplier to define and implement manufacturing tests for electrical hardware and software.
  • Manage defect tracking and reporting.
  • Create and maintain test documentation (procedures, processes, tools, etc.)
  • Work to reduce cycle times via process improvement and test optimization
  • Drive root cause and corrective actions with EMS and component suppliers
  • Monitoring product/system tests on site at our manufacturing partners
  • Troubleshooting and explaining Superpedestrian defined test functions to our manufacturing partners
  • Perform Gauge R&R tests on test equipment
  • Develop and improve our test database management process to send test logs back to our servers in the US.  


What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years of direct work experience
  • Extensive experience with the PCBA manufacturing and test process
  • Familiar with PCBA test equipment calibration/debug (JTAG/CAN tools)
  • Extensive experience working as the direct interface to contract manufacturers with new product introductions is required
  • Excellent communicator to translate requirements we define into to a plan
  • Ability to statistically analyze tester output data is a plus
  • Experience in test methodologies and designing custom fixtures and test equipment for manufacturing end of line testing for electromechanical products is a plus
  • Experience with a wide range of technologies and projects and previous work experience at both small and large companies is a plus
  • Experience using bench equipment such as: oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters (DMM), strain gauge tests, etc.
  • Some software experience (Python) would be helpful
  • Ability to communicate (written and orally) in English with our engineering team in the US
  • Experience with tester qualifications
  • Experience with battery pack and motor control tests are a plus
  • Candidate must be based in Shenzhen and is expected to work out of our CM partners during the work week.
