UI / Graphic Designer

The team

Superpedestrian brings together a team of extraordinary people for one vision: transforming urban mobility. We are focused on developing single and double-occupancy vehicles for trips under 50 miles. We do this by specializing in developing human-enhancing technologies which enable the creation of small vehicles that are both nimble and a joy to ride.

Our first product, the Copenhagen Wheel, is the first human-enhancing transportation technology available to the mass market. Almost any bike can be equipped with the Copenhagen Wheel, which senses the rider’s motions and amplifies their pedaling power by up to 10 times using the drive system embedded within the sleek red hub. We have an exclusive license to this piece of MIT technology and together, our team is now bringing the Wheel to the masses. Join us as we revolutionize personal transit for a sustainable future.

Superpedestrian is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer. We care about your skills and your character and we celebrate what makes us diverse. If we think there’s a good fit, we will get in touch. Please, no phone calls or recruiters.

Who you are

The Superpedestrian mobile app is the gateway between the Copenhagen Wheel, Wheel owners, other riders and the city. We are seeking a UI / Graphic Designer who will be responsible for delivering and improving evocative and pixel-perfect design for Superpedestrian’s mobile and web experience. You should have a passion for elegant, well thought-out, user-centered design and be able to identify with the core elements that comprise Superpedestrian’s brand identity: utility, beauty, and the abstraction of complexity.

  • Create mockups, mood boards and visual assets for use across teams.
  • Manage visual assets and design language for iOS, Android, and web projects.
  • Build upon our existing brand to deliver beautiful and functional designs.
  • Collaborate with engineers, marketers, and leadership to create a cohesive experience across our products.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience with designing attractive and efficient interfaces for mobile apps
  • Strong opinions about design and comfort presenting your work in team critiques
  • A stand-out design portfolio: make sure to highlight your role and contribution to each project
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a team-focused attitude
  • Academic degree in visual communication, new media, graphic design or similar experience
  • Expert skill with tools of the trade: Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator and other tools
  • Familiarity with the Agile software development process

What you can expect

  • A team of awesome, like-minded, driven people that support each other, and mentors from across the top echelons of industry
  • A competitive compensation and equity package as well as a 401(K) retirement savings plan
  • The choice of a wide range of health and dental insurance plans, a flexible spending account, short and long-term disability and life insurance
  • Flexible working hours, casual dress code, and unlimited paid vacation
  • The chance to have your voice heard and help shape Superpedestrian’s future
  • A gorgeous, dog-friendly workspace in a renovated warehouse with a private courtyard in the heart of Cambridge
  • A full kitchen, stocked with an intimidatingly wide range of hot sauces, and a grill for our frequent cookouts
  • Regular social events, team lunches, weekly beer runs (often by bike), and a bi-weekly running club
